Therapy for Adults in Harrisburg, PA
You shouldn’t have to hide who you are to feel like you belong.
Life in Harrisburg offers a unique blend of suburban life and small-town charm that draws people in. Harrisburg is just the right size, offering plenty to do and enjoy without the traffic and noise of a bigger city. But even in a town where life feels a little calmer and quieter, you may still find yourself stressed and overwhelmed by your circumstances. You may feel stuck or be struggling to overcome a painful experience that continues to hold you back. You may have friction in your relationships that leaves you feeling misunderstood and frustrated.
If this resonates with you, you’re in the right place. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s really going on and work to discover the patterns underneath that prevent lasting change. You’ll begin to see how your emotions, patterns, and behaviors are all connected. You’ll learn practical tools to live authentically while deepening your relationships with those you love. Whether you are ready to break down barriers preventing you from reaching your goals or trying to lay a new foundation in your life, First Brick Counseling is here for you.

Looking for an LGBTQ Therapist who gets it?
Being yourself isn't always easy. You may have spent years trying to fit in, hide parts of yourself, or figure out where you belong.
Maybe you're exploring your gender or sexual identity. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, or the pressure to be someone you're not.
It’s exhausting trying to figure yourself out while also trying to fit in. You don't have to figure it all out on your own.
Individual Therapy for Adults in Harrisburg, PA
As an LGBTQ-friendly therapist, I’m familiar with the pressure to fit in.
I’ve navigated my own struggles as a queer person with ADHD, and it’s definitely shaped how I approach mental health.
I believe that common human experiences, like being neurodivergent or questioning your identity, shouldn’t be pathologized. Which is exactly why I offer a space where your whole self is welcome.
Many of the clients I support come to me because they want to explore who they are and what they want from their life. This may include questions about gender, sexuality, or being nonbinary.
Or it could be about learning who they are as neurodivergent individuals. They may want to unpack what that means for them, how they experience the world, and how they relate to others.
What can we work on together?
Maybe something in your life feels harder than it should. Maybe you just want to understand yourself better. Or maybe you're ready to make a change but aren't sure how to do it.
We can explore things like:
Gender and sexual identity
LGBTQ+ experiences
Neurodivergence, ADHD and Autism
Relationships and boundaries issues
Feeling different or like you don't belong
Self-acceptance
Relationship patterns that keep repeating
Therapy that meets you where you are

I combine strengths-based and person-centered techniques. The evidence-based therapies I have trained in include Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Each provides powerful tools to help you heal and move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer services in-person or online?
1
I conduct all therapy sessions in person at my office, as my ADHD can make it difficult for me to focus during online sessions. This workplace accommodation helps me to ensure that I can provide you with the best possible service.
What is your cancellation policy?
2
First Brick Counseling requires at least 24 hours' notice to cancel a session. If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $100. If you no-show an appointment, you will be charged the full $180 session fee.
How long do I need to be in therapy?
3
There is no predetermined answer to this question. Therapy is a deeply personal process that varies from person to person. Your personal goals will affect how long you stay in therapy. Some people need only a few sessions, while others stay in therapy for a few years. We will discuss discharge planning on an ongoing basis so you can provide feedback and know what to expect.
